SCL Seminar by Ljupčo Kocarev

You are cordially invited to the SCL seminar of the Center for the Study of Complex Systems, which will be held on Thursday, 5 December 2019 at 14:00 in the library reading room “Dr. Dragan Popović" of the Institute of Physics Belgrade. The talk entitled

Exchangeability and symmetry

will be given by Ljupčo Kocarev (member of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts,  professor Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, Skopje, Macedonia, and University of California at San Diego). Abstract of the talk:

The close relationships between exchangeable sequences of random variables, ergodic theory, and symmetry will be reviewed. Exponential random graph models and exchangeable random graphs will be discussed. By combining models from statistics and sociology, stochastic block models, with tools from computer science and machine learning, consensus and Bayesian consensus clustering, the Bayesian consensus stochastic block model for multiplex networks will be suggested.
