True quantum chaos from replica OTOCs

will be given by Dmitrii Trunin (Princeton University, USA). The abstract of the talk:

Out-of-time-order correlator (OTOC) is widely used as an indicator of quantum chaos and has many applications both in high-energy and condensed matter physics. Unfortunately, OTOC fails to distinguish between truly chaotic systems and integrable systems with isolated saddle points. In this talk we will propose to fix this drawback by generalizing the definition of OTOC. We will show that such a generalized OTOC correctly determines the average Lyapunov exponent and the Ehrenfest time in the semiclassical limit, can be calculated analytically using a replica trick, and satisfies the famous bound on chaos. For clarity, we will illustrate the key observations on particular examples, including the SYK and O(N) models.
