The Institute of Physics and its Scientific Computing Laboratory were host to a high-level EU delegation headed by Roland Schenkel, Director General of the Joint Research Centre and Didier Haas from the JRC Institute for Transuranium Elements. The guest were given a brief introduction to SCL and its facilities. Aleksandar Belic also presented an overview of SCL research plans within FP7. The two guest have come to Belgrade as keynote speakers of the June 12th Research Information Event: Promoting the Development of a European Research Area. While at the IPB they discussed the specific role that JRC plays within the overal European research effort, as well as the positions that are opening up for Serbia after the official signing of FP7 document in Brussels on June 13.
