SCL researcher visits UPC Barcelona
SCL's Antun Balaz visited Computer Simulation in Condensed Matter Research Group (SIMCON) of Prof. Jordi Boronat at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain on 22 September 2009. After the talk entitled "Recursive Approach to the Calculation of Improved Effective Actions", possible collaboration between SCL and SIMCON was discussed. In particular, recently developed higher-order operator-split method by Prof. Siu Chin from Texas A&M University (which is implemented in Monte Carlo simulations by the SIMCON group) and its relation to the recursive approach were discussed with Dr. Boronat and other members of his group. Possible joint work on applications of the higher-order effective action approach in Monte Carlo simulations was considered, and time-dependent potentials and systems described with equations of the Gross-Pitaevskii type were identified as the most interesting ones.
