HP visits SCL
SCL hosted a visit from Hewlett-Packard. Ms. Irena Cvetic represented HP Serbia, while Senior Research Manager Dejan Milojcic represented HP Labs. Professors Belic, Bogojevic and Balaz gave an outline of SCL research activities and HPC infrastructure, as well as the plans undertaken for building the Blue Danube supercomputer at the future National Supercomputing and Data Storage Facility (NSDSF). Mr. Milojcic gave a presentation of reseach effort that is currently being undertaken at HP Labs facilities in Palo Alto, as well as in its smaller research units located throughout the world. A brain storming session that followed the presentation focused on particular research directions in which it would be possible to conduct joint R&D effort between NSDSF and HP Labs. Special mention was made of the need to investigate modalities for short and medium term visits of SCL junior staff at HP Labs, along the line of the already existing cooperation with CERN.
