SCL at ISC 2011
SCL's Danica Stojiljkovic and Vladimir Slavnic were members of PRACE team at ISC'11exhibition in Hamburg which lasted from 20-22 June 2011.
The International Supercomputing Conference (ISC) is a key global conference and exhibition for high performance computing, networking and storage. Now in its 26th year, ISC’11 once again reunited over 2,000 like minded HPC researchers, technology leaders, scientists and IT-decision makers. A world-class exhibition on supercomputing, storage and networking vendors also awaited the visitors.
During the three days of exhibition PRACE team members presented the current achievements and future steps of PRACE and visualisations of highly demanding scientific simulations supported by PRACE were shown. The PRACE Award recognising an outstanding paper on petascaling by a young scientist was presented at ISC'11 now for the fourth time at the Opening Session of ISC'11
PRACE organised a BoF session on "Einfrastructures for science in Europe". In this session three research einfrastructures (PRACE, HP-SEE and HPC-Europa2), two projects (EGI.eu and EUDAT) and the policy group for e-infrastructures (e-IRG) presented their vision for the future.
