SCL 's Ivana Vidanovic at MPIPKS
SCL's Ivana Vidanovic visited Max Planck Institute for Physics of Complex Systems from 26 April to 27 May 2011. Together with her host Masudul Haque, Ivana worked on the nonequilibrium spin dynamics in one-dimensional two-component Bose gases. Main focus of the research is a typical experimental scenario for the production of a two-component Bose-Einstein condensates where starting point is a pure condensate in which suddenly half of the atoms are transferred to another hyperfine state. New experimental results that exploit state-dependent rf-dressed potentials allow additional tunability of the system parameters and have lead to the revived theoretical interest in these systems.
