SCL seminar by Marina Radulaski
Marina Radulaski, from Nanoscale and Quantum Photonics Lab of the Stanford University, gave a seminar talk entitled
Photonic Crystals and Cavity QED
Abstract:
Photonic crystals, known as semiconductors for light, have been actively investigated over the past decade in efforts to achieve integrated low-power all-optical communication and ultra-compact solid state QED platforms. This talk will explain underlying principles of optical band gap, confinement of light into subwavelength volumes, coupling between photonic crystal cavities and dipole emitters, as well as some of the applications explored in Nanoscale and Quantum Photonics Lab.
