Open positions
  • PhD positions. Inquires from students interested in doing their PhD are welcome. The candidates should have a master or diploma degree in physics, electrical engineering, physical chemistry or related areas. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to:
    • Learn state-of-the-art theories and methods for the simulation of electronic properties of novel materials.
    • Perform world-class research while staying in Serbia and publish their results in leading international journals.
    • Use high-performance computing facilities available in our laboratory.
    • Travel to conferences and workshops in Europe.
    • Join some of the existing collaborations with researchers worldwide (USA, UK, Switzerland, Spain, Sweden).
  • Research internships. Inquiries from undergraduate and master students interested in a research internship are also welcome at any time. Possible topics for research projects include the theory and simulations of electronic properties of new materials and nanostructures. The internships are particularly intended for students interested in a scientific career upon completion of their studies. Potential benefits to the students from the internship are:
    • Hands-on experience with the process of solving a task encountered in real research.
    • Insight into the current trends in materials research for renewable energy and optoelectronic applications.
    • Support from our side to use the results obtained during the internship for their diploma or master thesis.
    • Insight into the possibilities of employment and/or PhD research at the Institute of Physics.
    • Research results of very successful internships may also lead to a publication in an international journal - in that case full support will be provided in preparing the results into a format suitable for publication.
