Research Interests

  • statistical physics of excitable systems, focus on collective dynamics and self-organization related to synchronization phenomena in macroscopic assemblies of stochastic excitable units
  • approximate mean-field models appropriate for describing the stochastic stability and stochastic bifurcations of large sets of stochastic delay-differential equations
  • theory of complex networks applied to modular networks of bursting units (synchronization phase transitions and the relationship between the structural and functional networks)
  • application of the theory of nonlinear dynamics in interdisciplinary studies
