Professor Vladimir Dobrosavljevic from University of Florida, Tallahassee gave IPB colloquium outlining forefront research currently going on in the field of metal-insulator transitions. The central topic of the talk were the new results related to Quantum Griffiths phases. The colloquium was attended by the full IPB faculty and large number of graduate students working at IPB. Before the talk professor Aleksandar Belic, head of the Scientific Computing Laboratory gave a brief exposition of professor Dobrosavljevic work and congratulated him on behalf of the IPB for being awarded the prestigious "Marko V. Jaric" prize for outstanding work in physics for 2008.
