The minister of education, science and technological development Mladen Šarčević and the state secretary responsible for science Prof. Dr. Vladimir Popović visited Institute of Physics Belgrade on 4 December 2017. During the visit, high-level guests learned about the IPB history, its main achievements, and current activities. The minister and the state secretary visited our National Center of Excellence for the Study of Complex Systems and its Scientific Computing Laboratory, where they met and briefly discussed with our PhD students and senior researchers. The guests also visited our PARADOX-IV supercomputing facility. During the discussion, the head of the Center Dr. Antun Balaž stressed the importance of investing in and building human capacity of Serbian science, and in particular how our Center focuses on attracting the best PhD students and young researchers from abroad.
