"HUNTING THE FOURTH NEUTRINO - STATUS OF THE CURRENT SEARCH"

will be given by Prof. Dr. Jelena Maričić (Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Hawaii). Abstract of the talk:

We will present a brief history of neutrino oscillations with emphasis on the results from KamLAND and Double Chooz reactor neutrino experiments. This will be followed by description of the three neutrino mixing picture, followed by an overview of tantalizing hints of the fourth neutrino existence. We will discuss in detail search for the massive eV^2, sterile neutrinos with reactor neutrinos and strong radioactive sources at Borexino detector in Italy (project SOX).
