SCL's Vladimir Slavnic and Dusan Vudragovic participated in the PRACE (Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe<) Winter School on Petascale Computing held on 10-13 February 2009 at the training Center of the Hellenic Telecommunications Organization (OTE Academy) in Athens, Greece. Together with more than 40 researchers and students from Europe and beyond, they received advanced training in programming models and optimization techniques, MPI/OpenMP and hybrid programming, and profiling.

The first three days of the Winter School were focused on the in-depth presentation of the above HPC topics during morning lectures, followed by hands-on training sessions in the afternoon. The last day was dedicated to a novel multiprocessor architecture, with all-day parallel lectures and hands-on trainings.
