Today Dr Tamara Bogdanovic from Department of Astronomy, University of Maryland, USA, gave IPB colloquium on "Astrophysical implications of black holes coalescence".

The central topic of the talk were the astrophysics of the black holes, usage of smoothed particle hydrodynamics codes to model close encounters of black holes with stars and gas in galactic nuclei and study the observational signatures that arise in such interactions.
